Certificate in Financial Advice (CeFA)
This is the profession to be in now. There are fewer financial advisers in the UK than ever before while the demand for financial advice is massive.
To become a financial adviser and have the ability to give customers advice on all their financial needs such as pension planning, investment advice and wealth management, you need first of all to be qualified.
New Leaf work with the ifs School of Finance and deliver all of the necessary training to get you qualified.
CeFA / CeMAP Module 1

studentsThis module covers both the Certificate in Financial Advice (CeFA) and the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) broken into two units. Once this is completed you will be able to continue to CeFA 2.
- Unit 1 – Introduction to financial services environment and products.
- Unit 2 – UK financial services and regulation.
- A two-hour test with 100 questions to be taken at a Prometric Test Centre.
- Only £135 for books, examination entry and twelve months registration with the ifs School of Finance.
CeFA Module 2
We study CeFA module 2 over two consecutive days in groups of up to four people in order to fine tune and enhance the learning experience. Our training techniques and memory aids will help you pass this investment products and principles of investment module.
- Unit 3 – Principles of investment.
- Unit 4 – Investment products.
- A two-hour test with 100 questions to be taken at a Prometric Test Centre.
- Only £135 for books, examination entry and twelve months registration with the ifs School of Finance.
CeFA Module 3
For two days, we now focus on protection products, their taxation position and how they fit within client’s priorities and needs. We also interpret pension law – through to the history of retirement planning all these areas are encompassed in Unit 5 and 6.
- Unit 5 – Protection.
- Unit 6 – Retirement planning.
- A two-hour test with 100 questions to be taken at a Prometric Test Centre.

CeFA Module 4
Module 4 is a test made up of six case studies with ten questions on each. You will need to demonstrate your understanding of all of the theories to date in order to pass. We cover all techniques necessary to pass the test over two days.

Training Options
Option 1
Stand alone CeFA Cert in Financial Advice
Entire CeFA training course until you pass - for £550.00 (CeFA1 2 3 and 4 all included - 10 days training)
- CeFA/CeMAP Module 1 over 4 days (midweek or weekend).
- CeFA 2 and 3 over 4 days back to back (midweek)
- CeFA 4 2 day workshop (midweek)
We will train you until you pass. You are responsible for the IFS fees. We will undertake all the administration on your behalf.
Complete CeFA in 1 month and really change your life. Once this is complete we recommend you either join the FSCGB or our brand new Elite club (soon to be launched) which will help you obtain the Diploma in Financial Services with the CII.
Option 2
Training of CeFA 2/3/4 is undertaken in our training centre in Essex.
CeFA 1 is the most testing and in depth areas and as such requires six days of training. You can undertake this in our University teaching venue, based in the University of Westminster in Regents Street, London. This consists of training over four weekends (four Sundays). This allows you to gain an excellent grasp of the foundation material to enhance your learning to propel you towards success.
If you are in a hurry to pass, you can undertake our four day intensive course, Tuesday to Friday also in Essex.
The best way and most cost effective way to undertake CeFA training is to sign up for the FSCGB as this includes the whole of CeFA and even CeMAP and all other forms of financial services training for £950 + VAT
Once qualified this will lead you to either joining us with training and development supplied by Legal & General, one of the largest insurance companies in the world, or we can place you with one of our national partners who require newly qualified financial advisers.
The earning potential is massive in this profession. The average income is £70K and a good income of £100K P.A. is our expectation.

Please enquire with the ifs School of Finance as to the relevant costs of re-sit examinations, however you are free to return for continuous training until you pass.
