The Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) is a qualification offered by the ifs School of Finance. CeMAP is incorporated in to the National Qualifications Framework at level three. Once you have this in the bag you can commence training with us and we will mentor you to competent adviser status and then onto protection specialist marketing; life assurance, income protection, critical illness and private medical insurance then onto equity release enabling those equity rich but cash poor to release cash and even to financial adviser marketing pensions and investments.
CeMAP comprises of three modules. Modules 1 and 2 both have defined learning outcomes designed to give you the knowledge and understanding required to operate as mortgage advisers. Module 3 consists of objectivity tested questions designed to test your ability to apply the knowledge gained in modules 1 and 2.

If you simply cannot wait and want to be fully qualified within a month then the 8 Day Special CeMAP course is for you. Take the course in London, Manchester or Essex to get the job done. Tuesday through to Friday – you need to attend having speed read the book. Enquire for dates and availability.
- Four back to back days in one week for CeMAP 1 followed by a further 4 back to back days for CeMAP 2/3 on a week and location convenient to you.
- Minimum 6 tests to cover CeMAP 1.
- Minimum of 12 tests to cover CeMAP 2 and around 15 case studies to cover CeMAP 3 with full feedback from your trainer.

CeMAP Module 1 at The University of Westminster
CeMAP Module 1 is tough and as such you can choose to take this in bite-size chunks at the University of Westminster in the heart of London at a really comfortable pace over 1 month. Training in London operates specifically as follows:
Training of the highest quality takes place over four Saturdays in your chosen month of study. These include practice examinations, formal lectures, workshops and case studies. By the time you finish you will have taken at least twelve practice examinations and received full feedback from your trainer. Within the next five working days you should take your exam and then come back for CeMAP 2 and 3 training on four consecutive days.
(Please note that module 1 is CeMAP and CeFA 1. Once you have passed this module you can choose to study CeMAP to become an independent mortgage adviser or CeFA to move towards independent finacial adviser status.)

In the unlikely event of failing any of the units, re-sits will need to be arranged directly by yourself via the ifs School of Finance. Please enquire with the ifs School of Finance as to the relevant costs of re-sit examinations, however you are free to return for continuous training until you pass.
